The Syrian Firefly: A safe haven for vulnerable children, offering security, friendship, and engaging learning in a supportive environment
A specialized training course in practical electrical fundamentals was conducted at the Syrian Yara’a Center in Latakia for a select group of young engineers.
The course aimed to strengthen their applied skills in electrical circuits and deepen their practical understanding of theoretical concepts through direct work with various electrical components, including lamps, resistors, diodes, Zener diodes, motors, buzzers, and LED lights.
The training included intensive hands-on practice in designing series and parallel circuits, applying Ohm’s Law, and using a multimeter to measure voltage, current, and resistance. Participants also documented and illustrated their circuits using the Every Circuit software.
The course aimed to prepare the trainees to teach this subject effectively within targeted educational centers, equipping them with the practical expertise needed to train students using an interactive and scientifically sound approach.
🔹 Number of courses conducted: 1 training course
🔹 Number of trainees: 16 young engineers
🔹 Number of sessions: 5 sessions, each lasting 3 hours
🔹 Implementation method: Careful supervision and continuous assessment to ensure the course proceeds efficiently and achieves its intended outcomes
🎯 Encouraged by the Syrian Yara’a Association, this electrical training course provides strong technical support for young engineers. It aims to enhance their practical skills in fundamental electrical principles, build logical and analytical thinking, and strengthen the connection between theory and real-world application.
Through this program, participants become capable of delivering simplified and effective electrical content in educational centers, contributing to the development of a stimulating and sustainable learning environment.
Engineers’ Training Courses on Meccano – Latakia (2024–2025)
As part of the Syrian Yara’a Association’s efforts to promote applied education and strengthen the competencies of young professionals, specialized Meccano training courses were implemented at the association’s center in Latakia.
These courses targeted young engineers and aimed to enhance their practical skills in mechanical design, bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and hands-on application. Training included direct work with Meccano components and building models based on principles of tension, compression, and rotation.
🔹 Number of Courses Conducted: 2 training courses
🔹 First Course:
Trainees: 11 engineers
Sessions: 6
Duration per session: 2 hours
🔹 Second Course:
Trainees: 9 engineers
Sessions: 5
Duration per session: 3 hours
🔹 Implementation Method:
Close supervision, practical interactive training, and step-by-step evaluation to ensure high-quality learning outcomes.
🎯 Through these Meccano training courses, the Syrian Yara’a Association seeks to empower young engineers with strong practical skills in mechanical design, enhance their logical and creative thinking, and prepare them to deliver Meccano programs effectively within educational centers—contributing to a supportive and sustainable learning environment for children.
